we are a small but loving nonprofit operating out of Lexington, Kentucky's tight-knit cardinal hill neighborhood. we're teaching ourselves how to build community through growth: mind, body, spirit, and plants. 

Our mission is to create space for healing and imagination where creativity knows no bounds. We value authenticity, diversity, and bold ideas. the cracks in the sidewalk and the soil That make us extraordinary.

Michael hunter-lawson

Founder, President

Michael E. Hunter-Lawson is the President and Founder of The IndiGo House, Inc. a nonprofit educational organization focused on international accessibility. Established from his grandmother’s legacy and to honor his mother, he aims to make a place where  community comes together to learn about sustainable practices, enabling participants to cultivate knowledge and skills, to learn about healing. Michael has 8 years of experience working in healthcare from Certified Nursing to Radiology, making an impact on patients for the best of the person.

 

He is passionate about a life dedicated to finding a  bridges for medical care focused on alternative  health and well-being.

shayla hunter-lawson

Founder, CEO

Shayla Hunter-Lawson is a radical being, in the spirit of "uproot." They are the author of books and builder of worlds. As Founder and CEO of The IndiGO House, Inc., their mission is to use personal growth as the building blocks for community healing, through wellness retreats, music salons, and sitting with trees.

 

They believe education is the cultivation of food: spiritual, intellectual, and physical.
